We liaise with the voluntary organisation committees, alongside other voluntary organisations, to prepare, train and plan in preparations for assistance when called upon to perform agreed tasks. We activate Rotary & Inner Wheel Club members and lead them in the allocated roles to promote public safety and protect the lives and property of citizens.
In the event of a call to assist, EVAG will lead and organise Rotarians, Inner Wheelers and other spontaneous volunteers in 4 designated roles:
- Manning and organising spontaneous volunteer reception centres to place volunteers in designated relief groups;
- Assist in managing the Authorities’ reception centres in the case of evacuation or rescue;
- Manage warehousing provided by the authorities for donated goods- accounting, storing, issuing;
- Manage warehousing provided by the authorities for the storage of household goods for those who need such support;
- Account for funds donated to EVAG for charitable distribution;
- Assist the authorities and fellow volunteer organisations when EVAG-generated resources are required;
- Represent Rotary & Inner Wheel at Local Resilience forums and other relevant groups;
- Support Wessex 4 x 4 with 4 x 4 capability amongst Rotarians when called upon by Wessex 4 x 4 for support.
